3 designers // Live band "Gourmet Pepper" and DJ Tony Chambers....In aid of a valuable cause

Auckland fashion designers Michelle Thompson, Ruth Perry and Katie Maree Cole are preparing to showcase their latest designs at Loose Change, a fashion show raising money to support young New Zealand women at risk.

On Saturday 10 October, Galatos will be transformed into a catwalk and party zone. The night will feature runway shows from all three designers accompanied. After the show, the clothing items will be available for sale in limited numbers.

The show is all about raising money for IOSIS Family Solutions, and agency in South Auckland helping families with limited resources and complex needs overcome obstacles to create a nurturing environment for children. The project we are raising money for is a safe-house for underage girls who were being victimised (or at risk of being victimised) by commercial sexual activity in New Zealand. The home, which was set up in 2004, provided both short-term emergency care and long-term rehabilitative care for up to 6 girls at a time and cared for over 30 girls before closing in 2008, not for lack of need, but for lack of human resources. Awhina Teina, meaning (Embrace Little Sister) will be re-launched in Early 2010, to fill this very important need in our city, and needs your help to put in place the best possible environment and care for these young women to help them reach their utmost potential.
