Rhys returns to the Basement Theatre as part of
Basement Fest. 2011, after another successful stint at this year's NZ International Comedy Festival.
Rhys Mathewson is set to blow the Basement apart (not in a gay way) with another full hour of him standing on stage telling jokes to people (hopefully heaps of them). Known for his energy, hilarious story telling and big one-liners Rhys is ready to bring it, for Basement Fest.
Since 2010 when Rhys took out the Billy T Award, (making him the youngest ever recipient at only 19 years of age) he went on to appear in this year's World Buskers Festival in Christchurch before tackling another huge season at the 2011 NZ International Comedy Festival where he proved that RHYS MATHEWSON IS FUN (that was the name of the show by the way!), then he took to the road in the Festival's 'Comedy Convoy' regional tour. Rhys also gigs regularly at The Classic and around the country so there.
In the last year you would have seen Rhys on telly in '7 Days', 'The Jono Project', 'WannaBEN', TVNZ's Youtube channel 'Unstuck TV', 'U Live' and on the up and coming new TV3 series 'Hounds'.
Make sure you get along to see Rhys Mathewson. It'll be the most fun you'll have in a basement ever!
