The Full Monty - as a Musical!

The 1997 film of THE FULL MONTY stormed the box office and became the most successful British screen comedy ever. Receiving The Evening Standard Award for Best Film. It also garnered two British BAFTA Awards, Best Film and Best Actor for Robert Carlyle, thrusting him into the forefront of the film industry. It was nominated for four American Academy Awards (Oscars). Losing out that year to Good Will Hunting.

The faithful stage adaptation, won the same Evening Standard Award in 2001 for Best Musical.
Garnering ten nominations for the 2001 Broadway Tony Awards, it received the Drama Desk Award for its original stage score.

THE FULL MONTY celebrates the renewal of self-esteem in a group of men made redundant by the closing of a steel mill. They see a poster of the strippers 'Chippendales'. Incensed by the money they are making and the fact their women are attending the performance, they think they can do better! So the process of enlisting other guys and rehearsals, commence!

Enhanced by sharp and witty lyrics that expose more of the 'inner-self' and supported by punchy modern music, THE FULL MONTY is a contemporary Musical.

Jazzy Funky songs lead us through a colourful journey that celebrates triumph over adversity, in the most heart-warming way.

Direction by Bryan Aitken, former Associate Artistic Director of The Court Theatre, Christchurch.

For mature audiences, contains coarse language.
