Little Shop of Horrors, the cult musical from the 1980s, is a fabulous mix of comedy and horror set in 1950's New York. Accompanied by early rock and roll, doo wop and Motown music, Director Alister Body says "It's a great show with wide appeal. And it's been several years since Methven Theatre Company performed a full musical so we're expecting a lot of interest from across Mid Canterbury."
Musical Director Jo Castelow says the casting of strong Ashburton and Methven performers should be a drawcard. "Some people get it confused with Rocky Horror but it's a very different show. It's quirky and will go down well with the local audience. And the Mt Hutt Memorial Hall is a great venue because it's so intimate."
