"If I cannot drink coffee three times daily, I become like a dried up piece of roast goat.' J.S. Bach's Coffee Cantata
Join Age of Discovery for morning coffee at 11.30am in the Holy Trinity Cathedral Visitors' Centre, followed by a special performance of Bach's Coffee Cantata in St Mary's-in-Holy Trinity.
In a satirical commentary, the cantata tells of an addiction to coffee; a pressing social problem in 18th Century Leipzig, where this work was premiered.
Soloists: Fiona Tibbles Soprano, Lachlan Craig Tenor, and Rowan Johnston - Bass
Come early if you'd like to hear some of Bach's music for organ before the cantata.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Holy Trinity Cathedral Organ Build.
Children aged up to Secondary School age are free, no ticket is required
