AutoMatic 80s specialises in performing early to mid 80's New Romantics and New Wave hits. Their annual shows are sell out events, leaving enthralled audiences exhausted and voiceless from dancing and singing.

Formally known in Christchurch as Amez Amez in the 1980s, AutoMatic 80s is the rebirth of a world class group of musicians featuring the astonishing sound alike vocals and high energy stage antics of frontman Justin Maclaren, backed up by the pitch perfect Pearl Runga (sister to Boh & Bic), drummer and programmer Andrew Maclaren (Stellar*), guitarists Andrew Thorne & Chris Warburton with bassist Brett Wells.

The band plays a hand-picked selection of classic 80s hits by bands including Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Simple Minds, Erasure, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, Dead or Alive, Madness, ABC, Blondie, U2, Spandau Ballet,Kim Cairnes, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears and many more.
