SIR ELTON JOHN and TIM RICE'S

      'AIDA'
      SCHOOL'S EDITION

Written by Sir Elton John and Tim Rice, this is the powerful contemporary version of 'AIDA' - the Broadway smash hit - which has been performed throughout the world.

Set mainly in Ancient Egypt, this well known story is played out against a score of stunning musical styles - rock, pop ballads, reggae, black gospel, African and East Indian music to name a few.

A large cast - over 100 - enthusiastic and talented young people aged from 11 to 18 portray swashbuckling Egyptian soldiers led by their Captain Radames, Nubian slaves, beautiful Palace attendants and scheming Ministers. The soldiers sack Nubia and, unwittingly, enslave the Nubian Princess Aida who captures Radames' attention. However, Radames is betrothed to Amneris, Pharaoh's daughter, and Radames forbidden love for Aida creates a series of events and consequences that affect all of their lives.
