A true celebration of youth music. The KBB Music Festival Gala Concerts bring together the best groups hand-picked by the adjudicators for two concerts that will blow you away.
The 3.30pm gala concert will feature chamber orchestras & concert bands, while the 7:00pm gala concert will feature symphony orchestras and jazz bands.
These concerts have developed a reputation as thrilling evenings of outstanding music-making by young musicians. Each concert will conclude with an Awards Ceremony.
This year marks the 31st anniversary of the KBB Music Festival, formerly known as the Auckland Secondary Schools Band and Orchestra Festival. Established in 1983 to encourage music in schools, the festival has since grown into the largest regional youth music event in New Zealand.
