Beating the Bomb is the story about the biggest weapons of mass destruction ever created, the people who use them and, more importantly, the people who fight them. It charts a history of a growing British peace movement against the political backdrop of the atomic age (1941-present day). The film also frames the nuclear issue within the wider context of global justice.
The film was made by 2 UK based individuals in an effort to raise awareness on issues grossly under represented by the mainstream media. It has been selected and screened at over 11 film festivals worldwide and won one award for 'Best Documentary Feature'.
One of the directors of the film is currently in NZ and will be present at this screening.
