This event has probably been and gone!
By Steven Peros
Directed by Matt Bentley
It is November 1924. Thirteen passengers walk on board a private yacht.
One is carried off horizontally two days later.
The yacht is the Oneida, owned by William Randolph Hearst. The passengers include silent film actors Marion Davies, Charlie Chaplin and Margaret Livingston, columnist Louella Parsons, novelist Elinor Glyn, and WR himself.
The Cat’s Meow is a fictional re-imagining of that weekend. It’s the story Orson Welles was too scared to include in Citizen Kane.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to disruptions, latecomers will not be admitted to theatre. Please ensure you have exchanged your ticket for an entry voucher at least 15 minutes prior to show start time. Thank you.
