This event has probably been and gone!
A highly theatrical fringe work guaranteed to excite anyone with a bent for musicalized melodrama and the dramatic sensibilities of a suburban gothic short story! Menotti’s tuneful score is influenced from American vernacular and jazz music. Directed by Raymond Hawthorne and starring guest artist Helen Medlyn as Madame Flora this psychological winter thriller is not to be missed.
The work tells the tale of Madame Flora (Helen Medlyn), a charlatan spiritualist who conducts phony séances assisted by her daughter Monica (Emma Sloman) and a deaf mute Toby (Callum Blackmore). Madame Flora cons grieving parents (Catherine Reaburn, Mark Covich, and Helene Holman) into believing that they are communicating with the spirits of their dead children. This hour long innovative fringe production will be a little dark – think ‘Twilight’ meets the ‘Vampire diaries’.
