20hr TC-TSY Foundation Workshop for Yoga Teachers & Mental Health Workers

This 20hr, 2.5 day Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TC-TSY) Foundation Workshop will introduce you to the foundations, core concepts and applications of TC-TSY: an evidence based yoga program for adults and youth affected by PTSD, CPTSD, developmental, and/or complex trauma, dissociative disorders and other related emotional and behavioural difficulties.

TC-TSY is the ONLY yoga program recognised as a clinical adjunctive treatment for trauma in the USA by SAMSHA:NREPP (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration: National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices: SAMHSA-NREPP

This 20hr workshop is intended to inspire yoga teachers to develop trauma-informed yoga classes, and to support mental health providers to bring the body into treatment when working with people affected by traumatic stress/ complex trauma.

Facilitated by Trauma Center at JRI Licensed Trainer and TCTSY Facilitator, Kristen Pringle,(TCTSY-F, TCTSY-T, Yoga Therapist, Senior Yoga Teacher, Senior Mental Health Clinician, Occupational Therapist).  This workshop is part of the the Trauma Center at JRI Yoga Program and therefore is the ONLY Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Workshop/training in NZ accredited by the Trauma Center at Justice Research Institute (JRI) - Director of Yoga Services David Emerson.

In this workshop you will be introduced to:

  • The latest trauma theories and neurophysiology and how they relate to yoga/bodywork
  • Core theoretical underpinnings and methodology of the TC-TSY model
  • The research and evidence base involving  TC-TSY
  • How to apply Trauma-Sensitive Yoga principles to your practice, practice facilitation, and more!

Please Note: This workshop satisfies one of the prerequisites for applicants of the Trauma Center at JRI's TCTSY Certification for Yoga Teachers and/or Mental Health Career Professionals to be held annually via a weekend attendance either in Melbourne, Australia; Berlin Germany; Brookline, USA (and then ongoing, live online from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, with the Trauma Center, USA)  from September to April!  

This workshop is solely for professional development and is not a certificate program: to be certified in TCTSY completion of the 300hr TCTSY Certification is required. This workshop is also not intended as an intervention for those who have experienced trauma. Talking about trauma, even in the context of a professional training can be triggering.
