Back again for 2018, some Fonterra farmers are opening their gates so New Zealanders have the opportunity to go on farm, learn about how Fonterra farmers care for our environment and what happens on a dairy farm.
This year, Scott and Sue would like to invite you to visit Narbey Farm in Helensville.
Narbey Farm has stunning natural features, with the Kaipara River to the south and a large native bush reserve to the north and east. Scott and Sue see it as their responsibility to protect the beautiful land and have taken on several environmental actions that helped them win the Supreme title at the 2017 Auckland Ballance Farm Environment Awards. They also have a focus on improving infrastructure to increase efficiency and sustainability, and have built a new rotary cowshed, calf shed, calving pad and silage bunkers. Scott and Sue’s children Bella (7) and Ollie (5) are the fifth generation on the farm so keeping it in tip top shape is a priority.
