Matariki Ahunga Nui Matariki Kanohi Iti was created in 2013 to support the development of Matariki celebrations within the Waikato community.

The event consists of a 3 course menu incorporating traditional Māori ingredients designed and cooked by Logan Murray + Live Entertainment by a variety of artists educating the wider community of the Māori New Year through music and kai.

Each Artist will be asked to share favourite tunes to the evening’s repertoire – with a connection to ‘Matariki’, the Māori New Year – a time of reflection, honour, rekindling of life’s’ fire and new beginnings through acknowledging our ancestors.
