      Auckland Summer Shakespeare

Ramping up the festival feel with even more on offer from 14 February – 11 March 2017!

Auckland Outdoor Summer Shakespeare celebrate their return to the University of Auckland Clock Tower - the magical, open-air venue will host two of Shakespeare’s plays, a series of sonnets, and a gallery of local artwork!

As You Like It - Bringing Glastonbury to Auckland, with a dynamic cast and live music, this blisteringly vibrant production is the must-see summer event!

Benjamin Henson returns to lead a colourful, shaken up interpretation of Shakespeare’s captivating comedy.

The Merry Wives of Windsor – Theatre veteran Stuart Devenie (MNZM) directs a bold cast of 14 - 25 year olds from the Young Auckland Shakespeare Company. The show is set in the bubble gum era of the 1950s, when housewives ‘knew their place’ and knew how to pull the strings from behind the scenes.

Summer Sonnet Series – The International Actors Ensemble are joining in the fun, performing a collection of the bards’ sonnets and original sonnet works.

Since Summer Shakespeare first began in 1963, the not-for-profit charity has presented plays in almost every year, creating opportunities for students, young actors and directors to make their start, in a unique and iconic setting and this summer we add to the festival fee with an Outdoor Art Gallery of works by local artists, sculptors, photographers and designers, truly bringing out that festival vibe.

Join NZ's oldest outdoor Shakespeare production to enjoy the summer nights.

      Oh no!

Looks like we don't have any events for Auckland Summer Shakespeare on at the moment.
