For a great day of family fun and fabulous food come along to the 2013 Avocado Food & Wine Festival held 19 January at the Uretara Domain in Katikati, Bay of Plenty!

The event will see avocado delights, fine wine, seafood and other delicious bites on offer. There will also be a guacamole competition which the public can enter on the day and have their creation judged by top chefs.

Avocado Ambassador and 2011 Masterchef winner Nadia Lim will be at the festival to demonstrate a few of her avocado creations along with local chef and author of Fresh! Peter Blakeway who will be whipping up some gorgeous avocado delights for you to try.

Along with sumptuous food and fun activities, there will be live music all day.

Visit the New Zealand Avocado marquee throughout the day for demonstrations on how to make a range of avocado-based meals and you get to taste the final products including avocado chocolate mousse!

There are also rides and avocado activities for all ages to keep the kids occupied too!

All ticket holders will receive a festival wine glass.

Free admission for children under the age of 18 years who are accompanied by parents - no ticket is required.

The festival is an initiative of the Lions Clubs of Katikati as a fund raiser for local community groups. 2013 will see the clubs donating funds towards the Cancer Society Lodge in Hamilton.

In the spirit of the event, patrons are asked not to bring in food and drink.

Although we have many gazebos and chairs and tables available, you may like to bring your own picnic chairs and tables or blankets for your own use.
