Atamira, New Zealand’s leading Māori contemporary dance company, present Moko, inspired by the traditional Māori art of body tattooing.

Spurred by the enticement of mana (spiritual power) and tracing a return to equilibrium, patterns of Ta Moko explode, both emotionally and literally, onto the stage in new three-dimensional forms.

Choreographed by Moss Patterson, Moko is a ground-breaking work that asserts a unique and important Māori voice.
