Premiering at the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival, Acapollinations was developed as Tui Mamaki’s graduation recital at Auckland University 2013. On the premise that voices, cultures and inspirations cross-pollinate, this a capella trio performs hauntingly beautiful adaptations of Balkan Polyphony with an Aotearoa/NZ improvisation twist. Odd-meters, close harmony and the evocative voices of Tui Mamaki (French-Kiwi), Chelsea Prastiti (Greek-Kiwi) and Siobhan Grace (Samoan-Kiwi), make this a unique and compelling musical moment, not to be missed.
