Madcap and FuZen are proud to present one of the greatest Grime MC’s of our life time and one of the veterans in the UK Grime movement, D Double E. He will be performing in New Zealand for the very first time, across two shows in Auckland & Christchurch this coming April.

Spitting long before grime had a name, D Double E is the best type of British rapper: one whose vernacular and delivery is distinctly un-American. Ask Skepta who the greatest is or Dizzee Rascal who inspired him to start MCing and the answer will be the same - D Double is king.

D Double E started out in N.A.S.T.Y Crew (Natural Artistic Sounds Touching You), one of the first big collectives to pioneer the morphing of garage into something deeper and darker, spawning the careers of Kano, Ghetts (né Ghetto), Marcus Nasty, Jammer and Terror Danjah along the way.

In 2004, D Double E & Footsie moved onward to create ‘Newham Generals’, which still stand among the most respected and critically acclaimed underground acts in the UK today. Having consistently forged new styles and concepts throughout a career spanning three decades, the Generals stand firm –continually versioning the biggest underground beats and working with some of the biggest and most credible producers in the UK.
