The Saint Kentigern College Wearable Arts Show is a show that recognises the talent, creativity and skill level of our students. This show allows Middle School students (Years 7 – 10) to showcase their creative design through a public forum and be judged. The Wearable Arts show is a show that is student driven.

Since the introduction five years ago the different shows have highlighted a variety of design categories. This year we have six categories in the show.

      The 2016 categories include:

      • Kiwiana and Pasifica
      • Destinations around the world
      • A Man’s World
      • Magic and Love of Books
      • Pre-loved Avant Guard
      • Illumination, Glow in the dark

Each section is introduced with a choreographed themed dance prepared by Senior students. The Year 11 NCEA Dance students hold auditions of students from Years 7 and 8 wishing to be involved in dance during the show.

Our judges will be evaluating students based on the following criteria:

      • Creativity, zest and innovation
      • How well the garment represents the category
      • Overall originality
      • And finally, the presentation and construction of the design
