“Only in the cases of a very few artists, such as Shakespeare and Beethoven, do we have the impression they have changed the world. Rembrandt has to be amongst that company”
Rembrandt, one of the greatest European artists, made 330 paintings in his life. These paintings are now spread across the world; some in national art galleries and private collections, others stolen or damaged, with much of the original mastery no longer accessible for viewing today.
This world-class exhibition harnesses the latest techniques in digital photography and the inexhaustible knowledge of Professor Ernst van de Wetering - the world’s preeminent Rembrandt expert – to offer the spectacular opportunity to see these masterpieces in full size, and digitally restored to their original condition as if they just left Rembrandt’s studio.
Opens Friday 19 February 2016 and runs through to Sunday 28 February 2016. Sessions run from 11:00am to 8:30pm each week day, 10:00am to 8:30pm Saturday's & Sunday's
