Lisa Gunnery is the Chief Executive and Country Director of The Hunger Project in New Zealand. The Hunger Project is a global not for profit with the mission to end chronic hunger and its devastating effects in our world. Key to the work of The Hunger Project is the belief that everyone is capable of incredible transformation and it is this powerful transformation of mind-setthat brings about the opportunity to drive long term and sustainable solutions to hunger. During her time with The Hunger Project, Lisa has been profoundly impacted by the examples of courageous leadership that she has witnessed. In fact, Lisa left a successful career in insurance to pursue her passion for The Hunger Project and has committed herself to working to empower more people to have the same opportunity to rethink what’s possible in their lives.
To Lisa, MINDMATTER represents an opportunity for all of us to experience a powerful transformation. With all the reasons why it’s not possible, the people that The Hunger Project works with are redefining what is possible in the fight to end hunger. Their actions are changing the world – and there are lessons we can take from them which will change our views and redefine our opportunity as well.
EMMETT VALLENDER & SAM CABLE | 2016 WINNERS OF THE BLOCK NZ
Sam: Following the success of winning The Block NZ, Sam takes pride in being included in the top ten most eligible bachelors in New Zealand. He now works as a Project and Construction Manager at Dominos New Zealand.
Emmett: Following the conclusion of The Block, Emmett has since returned to his career in HR and is working for Citta as the HR Manager. He’s not upset about Sam making the list of most eligible bachelors in the slightest, it's a stupid list anyway.
Both: Following the life changing experience on the block, the boys have moved from Wellington to Auckland to peruse opportunities outside of their normal 9-5 roles. Currently ambassadors for Movember, Wellington 7’s and helping with charity functions when available, they are also dabbling in public speaking (not well), MCing and podcasting. In their spare time they enjoy socialising and pondering how to spend the winnings from The Block in a future focused way.
