ConversatioNZ is a collective of New Zealand food people including chefs, producers, media, tourism and event operators.
We are spread throughout the country from Dunedin to Auckland, creating a national platform to talk about our food.
We want to see New Zealand food celebrated; to put New Zealand’s food on the world map. This is our chance to come together for a day to work out how to do this.
The theme for the day is:
'Why Kai? What is unique about NZ Food and what is our place in the world?’
This symposium will be a series of short talks by people from all aspects of New Zealand food, and their take on the above.
Join us for what will be a critically important day, in a room full of movers and shakers, with some exciting outcomes for us all.
Lauraine Jacobs will be hosting the day with talks and discussion from Johny Schwass (Harlequin Public House), Monique Fiso (Hiakai), Rewi Spraggon (Hangi Master), Judy Finn (Neudorf Vineyards), Jade Temperara (Kakano café) & Tony Stewart (Clooney Restaurant) – more to be announced soon.
The event will be held in a private marquee within the Taste of Auckland festival at Western Springs, 20th November from 9-5pm; from about 3-5pm guests are welcome to explore the festival or enjoy a drink at the ConversatioNZ bar. Lunch + beverages are included in your ticket price.
Click here for transport options to the festival – Uber is also a fast and affordable way to travel around Auckland city.
If you are travelling from outside of Auckland click here for accommodation options.
We can’t wait to see you there!
