Rönisch Auckland Secondary Schools Piano Competition Grand Final

      GRAND FINAL 23 October, 7:30pm

A musical evening that promises to leave you mesmerised. Six highly gifted finalists will show their virtuosic talents while competing for the prestigious title of Auckland’s top secondary school pianist.

The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is pleased to present this competition again alongside Patron Bryan Sayer and the support of the University of Auckland School of Music. The generous prize money is kindly donated by Warren Sly from Sly’s Pianos.

Established in 2008, the competition encourages excellence in piano playing. Each Auckland secondary school is invited to nominate one student representative at Grade 8 level or above.

More than 30 schools have participated in the competition throughout the years, and we are looking forward to welcoming new schools who will be offered the chance to win the Newcomers Award, which gives the winning student tickets to APO concerts in 2017.

Each finalist will present a 15-minute programme. Following a short break for refreshments, an award ceremony will conclude the evening.

PLEASE NOTE:  The first round of competition will be held on Saturday 22 October at the Raye Freedman Arts Centre starting at 10am. Public are invited to attend with an all-day entrance pass available at the door. CASH SALES ONLY ($10)
