KĀ MURA | SET ALIGHT
TIKI ĀHUA – AN ANNUAL ONE-NIGHT FASHION AND DESIGN EXTRAVAGANZA THROUGH THE HALLOWED MIST AND STEAM OF TE WHAKAREWAREWA VALLEY, AT ROTORUA’S TE PUIA.
This esteemed runway event will be held on Saturday 24 September, 2016, hosted by Matai Smith, featuring outstanding fashion by emerging and established designers, from Rotorua and beyond, interwoven with contemporary music, art, dance and live performance.
At its core is the proud Te Arawa spirit of excellence, manaaki and celebration.
Tiki Āhua – Kā Mura will feature streetwear, jewellery and adornment including tā moko, daywear, eveningwear and avantgarde, along with a feature segment from some of Rotorua’s passionate youth designers.
Tiki Āhua will captivate the imagination and stimulate creativity and development of our art and our people.
Emerging Designers
Setting the scene for the future with a special showcase from Secondary School and Waiariki Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Design Students

Mac Vicious Society (MVS), Mitchell Vincent Collection, Rise Supply Co – Ranui Samuels, Henare (with Masami) Jewellery by Nerida Johnstone, Marama Jewellery (Courtney Jamieson), Rangi Kipa, Arekatara Maihi (Katz), Stacy Gordine, Jacob Tautari, Jeanine Clarkin, AHU – Adrienne Whitewood, Natura Aura – Leilani & Anastacia Rickard, Kiri Nathan, Kharl Wirepa Couture, Tihi King, Reremoana Sheridan and a special tribute to Weavers of the Valley.
Entertainment on the night including;
Artist – ‘Seth Haapu’, Dance Crew ‘Street Candee’, X Factor sensation ‘Whenua Patuwai’, and legend ‘Che Fu’ to party the night away!
Tiki Ahua is a must see one-night fashion and design extravaganza set amongst the hallowed steam and remarkable history of Te Whakarewarewa valley at Te Puia. It is outstanding fashion and design by emerging and established designers interwoven with contemporary music, art, dance and live performance as well as exceptional food, wine and manaaki.
