Before Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin landed Apollo 11 on the moon on Sunday, 20 July, 1969, Mission Control transmitted the following:
‘Apollo 11, Houston. Watch for a lovely girl with a big rabbit. An ancient legend says a beautiful Chinese girl…has been living there for 4,000 years…she was banished to the Moon because she stole the pill of immortality from her husband…’
Who is/was this girl and how did she really end up on the Moon?
In this punk sci-fi adaptation of a Chinese legend, Melbourne performer and multimedia artist Roshelle Fong will guide you on an interactive trip through time and space to explore the deepest, darkest secrets of ‘bunny girl’. Prepare to be cosmically challenged and enthralled.
Parts of this show are adapted from the short story 'Four Generations of Chang'e' by London-based Malaysian fantasy author Zen Cho.
Please note:
Adult themes, drug use, sexual references.
Meet at Te Whero Bridge - please arrive 15 minutes before start time.
Presented as part of Auckland Fringe festival from 21st February - 12th March 2017.
