This new deluxe walking tour is for people that can’t get enough of Art Deco – but would also like a refreshment break in the middle.
Join local historian and heritage officer of the Art Deco Trust Michael Fowler for tour around the eastern and western blocks of the Hastings Art Deco CBD. The Hastings CBD was also devastated by the 1931 earthquake, and rebuilt. The story of the imprisoned Art Deco architect; Mrs Ingram’s cheese; the legend of the naked lady in the bath tub during the earthquake and the styles of Hastings Art Deco will all be revealed.
The tour, which starts at the Hastings i-site in Russell Street South, takes around two hours in total (including the refreshment break of a tea/coffee or muffin or scone).
