Watch amazing autos sweep through town - from languid limos to cosy coupés. The vintage cars crawl from Clive Square to the Marine Parade via Lower Emerson St and Upper Emerson St, finishing at the Hawke’s Bay Toyota Sound Shell ‘Show and Shine’ to flaunt cars and costumes. (See also Vintage Car Tours).
This year’s parade will be led by the Royal New Zealand Navy Band along with the 1923 Bentley 3/4 ½ Litre from Ross Cook in the UK. This is one of approximately 20 Bentleys and 4 Lagondas from the UK as part of a New Zealand wide Tour. Plus there will also be 36 MG's 14 of which are Pre 1945. This is thanks to the Hawke’s Bay Vintage Car Club who arrange these incredible vehicles to attend the 2017 Festival. The Hawke's Bay Vintage Car Club presents their awards on the Hawke’s Bay Toyota Sound Shell Sat 2pm. Public viewing of cars from 1.30pm on Marine Parade.
ENTRY INTO THE PARADE IS LIMITED TO 250 EVENT-REGISTERED CARS ONLY. PRE 1946 CRITERIA APPLIES.
Cars can be registered at the Art Deco Trust or online at www.artdeconapier.com or through the Hawke’s Bay Vintage Car Club. Registration Fee includes car parade entry plus security patrolled parking in the Hawke’s Bay Toyota Sound Shell area of Marine Parade from 6pm Friday until 6pm Sunday.
