The Katikati Avocado Food and Wine Festival is a wonderful way to spend a summer's afternoon enjoying live music whilst savouring excellent food and fine wine.

This years entertainment lineup includes Mark Taipari, Kokomo Blues and then spend the rest of the afternoon with the irresistible 'BeatGirls' as they take you on a musical journey spanning over 5 decades from the 1960's to now.

From the Supremes, Saturday Night Fever and Tina Turner to Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars and Meghan Trainor this group has something for everyone!

The BeatGirls bring a wealth of experience to the stage - applauded by young and old both locally and internationally, captivating audiences with great costumes, sassy choreography, humour, and a fabulous repertoire guaranteed to pack the dance floor and thoroughly entertain.

Adrenalin on high heels, this is a show not to be missed!

And best accompanied with fine wine and delicious food from our bountiful countryside!

Harcourts Katikati have come on board with a FREE Kids Zone.  Open for the whole festival from 11am – 6pm there will be bouncy castles, big slides, rides and more.  Also the team from Skew-Whiff will entertain young and old with roving characters with magic, unicycling, puppetry, ventriloquism and balloonology.  It also includes a half hour show featuring magic, ventriloquism, and escapology.

There are cooking demonstrations for those who like to entertain!  Celebrity chefs Peter Blakeway and Jimmy Boswell.

Peter’s passions for food transmits through his cook schools and live performances.  He says if food is the most basic human necessity then cooking is the ability to transform nature into art. As a professional chef, he feels so lucky because there is no better way for him to make someone feel good, welcome, loved and respected than by preparing and sharing a delicious meal with them. What better way is there to express passion, love, history and family than through cooking?

Jimmy is based in Auckland and is known as the “gluten free chef”.  As a chef he has a focus on seasonal fresh, family focused food. This stems from starting to cook at a young age in his mothers kitchen. He loves teaching and showing people how to get taste and flair into their food with little or no fuss.
