Holy Trinity Cathedral invites you to join in celebrating the restoration of the historic St Mary’s Organ. Built by George Croft in 1909, this instrument has just undergone a significant restoration including painting and gilding of the pipework. The Opening Organ Recital of the series will be performed by Cathedral Organist Philip Smith, with Michael Stoddart, Director of Music at Holy Trinity Cathedral.
Other recitals in the series feature national and international guest performers including Johann Vexo - Organist Nancy Cathedral and Assistant Organist of the Choir Organ Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris, Damien Rivière – Tenor, Notre-Dame Cathedral Choir, Paris, Zosia Herlihy-O’Brien – Organ Scholar, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Paul Chan – Organist, St Matthew-In-The-City, and Stephen Vincent – Organist, St. Luke’s, Remuera
Recital programmes include music by Bach, Pick-Mangiagalli, Festing, Sumsion, Stanford, Messiaen, Reubke, Alain, Vierne, Ketelbey, Rheinberger, Verdi, Walther, Guilmant, Darke & Demessieux.
