Autumn Notes
with Melissa Farrow (flute, Australia)
“Be captivated by the expressive sounds of the baroque flute!”
Stunning baroque flautist Melissa Farrow returns to New Zealand to captivate audiences with the expressive sounds of her historical wooden flute. Melissa will perform a charming concerto by Carl Friederich Abel, a chamber version of Haydn’s Surprise Symphony, and a magical work by W F Bach for two flutes and strings.
MELISSA is a leading specialist of historical flutes in Australia, and has been principal flute of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra since 2003. As well as holding this position she performs and records frequently with Pinchgut Opera, The Australian Haydn Ensemble, Orchestra seventeen88, Ironwood, The Marais Project, Salut, The Australian Chamber Orchestra, Ludovico’s Band, and Latitude 37. Originally from New Zealand, Melissa is looking forward to returning to perform with NZ Barok.
NZ Barok would like to thank Auckland Council, Stout Trust, Foundation North, Athena Trust, The Wallace Foundation and Dame Jenny Gibbs for their support.
