SGCNZ National Shakespeare Schools Production 2017

Shakespeare Globe Centre NZ (SGCNZ) proudly presents its National Shakespeare Schools Production (NSSP) 2017, a week-long theatre intensive in which 48 students from all over New Zealand work on abridged versions of three different Shakespeare plays with three high-calibre directors culminating in two public performances.

The directors and plays for the 2017 SGCNZ NSSP are Peter Hambleton directing The Comedy of Errors, Robin Payne directing The Winter’s Tale, and Eleanor Bishop directing The Taming of the Shrew. The students will also be enjoying and challenged in workshops taken by experienced theatre practitioners and Shakespeare experts, including Sir Jon Trimmer and Danny Mulheron, further honing their performance skills and understanding of the plays.

Public performances will be held on Saturday 7 October 7.30pm at Mac’s Function Centre, Te Aro Room (booking via iTICKET), and on Sunday 8 October 2pm at the Wild Theatre, Wellington Zoo (booking via the SGCNZ office, E: shakespeare.et.al@gmail.com).
