Present day Art Deco in Napier owes its building architecture to a catastrophic earthquake on 3 February 1931 at 10.47am – the time of the tour’s departure.
This 90 minute walking tour will be full of facts, anecdotes and stories around the events of the 1931 Hawke’s Bay Earthquake, and view some of the CBD buildings that have survived the earthquake.
At the end of the tour you will be able to visit the informative 1931 Hawke’s Bay exhibition at the museum (MTG) across the street.
