To celebrating the Festivals 30th Anniversary this year’s parade will showcase 30 of ‘simply the best’ cars from around the country and world. Led by the Royal New Zealand Navy Band, the parade will feature New Zealand’s oldest car, the 1895 Benz; 1934 Cadillac V16 Town Cabriolet, first owned by Marlene Dietrich; 1935 Duesenberg J Phaeton, previously owned by Carole Lombard; 1935 Packard S8 3 window Coupe, previously owned by Amelia Earhart; and so many more remarkable cars.
A special year of special cars and a once in a lifetime event. This is thanks to the Hawke’s Bay Vintage Car Club who arrange these incredible vehicles to attend the 2018 Festival.
The vintage cars crawl from Clive Square to the Marine Parade via Lower Emerson St and Upper Emerson St, finishing at the Napier Sound Shell ‘Show and Shine’ to flaunt cars and costumes. (See also Vintage Car Tours).
The Hawke's Bay Vintage Car Club presents their awards on the Napier Sound Shell Sat 2pm. Public viewing of cars from 1:30pm on Marine Parade.
ENTRY INTO THE PARADE IS LIMITED TO 300 EVENT-REGISTERED CARS ONLY. PRE 1946 CRITERIA APPLIES. FULL CRITERIA AVAILABLE AT REGISTRATION.
Registration Fee includes car parade entry plus security patrolled parking in the Festival area from 6pm Friday until 6pm Sunday.
