Presenting a double bill of The Old Maid and the Thief and The Telephone (or L’amor a trois) – two comic one-act operas by Menotti performed by singers from The Opera Factory.
Join us for these two wonderful stories of love, punctuated by moments of farce. The perfect after work entertainment and still time for dinner and a drink afterwards.
The Old Maid and The Thief is staged as a radio play with singers playing the roles of the old Miss Todd, her house maid and confidant Letitia and the gossiping neighbour Miss Pinkerton. When Bob the wanderer arrives looking for a place to stay, the ladies are all over him, but once they hear he might be the local thief, they slowly make plans to ensure he is not caught. Featuring singers Suzanne Shaw-Lentini, Stephani Cortesi, Bernice Austin and Mark Covich.
The Telephone features three characters, Lucy, her boyfriend Ben and the Telephone. Lucy loves chatting on the phone and Ben loves Lucy – which one will win her heart? Singers include emerging talent Anna Mahon and Angus Simmons.
