      Perfick!

Remember the lovable, irrepressible Larkin family, living in perpetual summertime “somewhere at the end of the rainbow”? There’s Pop, who makes a fortune from a variety of deals but has never paid income tax, and generous-hearted Ma with their six boisterous children, not to mention their idiosyncratic neighbours across the meadows, beyond the bluebell wood. When earnest young tax official, Mr Charlton, turns up to investigate one hot May afternoon in 1957, he is bewitched immediately by eldest daughter Mariette, and soon he too succumbs to the Larkin charm and largesse.

The Larkins made their debut in the novel The Darling Buds of May in 1957, and went on to delight and beguile audiences on both stage and screen. In this revival of the 1950s classic comedy, in our autumnal May, we offer audiences the chance of a bright and cheerful, and nostalgic, night out.
