Back again for 2018, some Fonterra farmers are opening their gates so New Zealanders have the opportunity to go on farm, learn about how Fonterra farmers care for our environment and what happens on a dairy farm.

Located on the outskirts of Palmerston North, the Stewart family has been farming the same land for over a century. Twenty-five years ago, the farm changed from sheep farming to dairy and the Stewarts haven’t looked back since. The 600-hectare farm, managed by James, Tim and Dave Stewart is home to 800 dairy cows.

Animal welfare, the environment, a good team of people and producing top quality dairy are the values this farm runs by. And you can definitely tell when you step foot on this property. Not only does this dairy farm provide beautiful scenery and top-quality farming practices, it also doubles as a health and beauty day spa, with boutique accommodation.
