Back again for 2018, some Fonterra farmers are opening their gates so New Zealanders have the opportunity to go on farm, learn about how Fonterra farmers care for our environment and what happens on a dairy farm.

Since moving back home to Whangarei from Sydney in 2014 Fonterra farmers Greg and Janelle have been lucky enough to call their Poroti farm home for two seasons. From fencing, to riparian planting to a laser under-soil drainage project, the family have a number of projects on the go to improve pasture and waterway quality around the farm. Come get involved and get a taste of life on-farm. Events will be on all day, including calf feeding, milking, riparian planting, sausage sizzle with the kids from Poroti School, and of course the always competitive gumboot throwing competition.
