      WHAT IS THE NWF?
The New Zealand Society of Author (PEN NZ Inc) Te Puni Kaituhi O Aotearoa’s National Writers Forum is a conference for people who write whether fiction, non-fiction, blogs, textbooks, children’s writers, graphic novels, poetry, plays or digital media.

It is a 2.5 day intensive where writers talk, learn and share information about the craft of writing, the business of writing and the world of words.

The NWF reports and reflects on aspects of technique, deep craft, current New Zealand writing, publishing opportunities and explores the prospects for writers.

WRITING TO LIVE, LIVING TO WRITE
This year we’ll be celebrating the important role the written word plays in our lives and communities, learn new skills to develop our craft and talk about how to sustain our work, our industry and ourselves in this ever changing publishing world.

Join leading writers from across Aotearoa and Oceania who will share their knowledge and experiences. Immerse yourself in the only national event designed for and by writers.

Leading writers from Australia, Samoa and New Zealand will deliver workshops, master classes, presentations, keynotes and panel discussions covering subjects that matter to all writers: the craft of writing, getting your manuscript ready for publication, publishing in both print and digital format, promoting books, finding readers, building a career, making it internationally, working in translation and much much more.

There is also the Janet Frame Memorial Lecture, the CLNZ Awards Cocktail party and loads more opportunities to network with others in the writing community.

All ticket holders can enter the Making the Perfect Pitch competition to win a one-on-one session with participating publishers.

Check out our website for the full programme and all participating speakers: www.nationalwritersforum.org.nz
