“It's the only top job in the country that requires no previous experience. No training, no qualifications and limited intelligence.”
The classic BBC comedy comes to the stage in Stagecraft’s production of “Yes, Prime Minister.”
Prime Minister Jim Hacker and his Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby are back, but now the corridors of Whitehall have been infiltrated with austerity measures, 24 hour news, Blackberrys and ‘sexed up’ dossiers. The nation’s debt is spiralling and the Office of the Prime Minister is trying to spin its way out of the mess, but is mainly spinning out of control.
The country is in crisis, nearing complete financial meltdown. The PM is at breaking point, facing complete political disaster. His only possible hope for salvation is a deal with the Foreign Minister of Kumranistan, but the arrangement comes with some morally suspicious terms . Can the PM save the deal, the country and his reputation, while still remaining right and honourable?
The original writers of the BBC TV series, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn have reunited to revisit the often ridiculous world of public servants and their complicated masters.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to disruptions, latecomers will not be admitted to theatre. Please ensure you have exchanged your ticket for an entry voucher at least 15 minutes prior to show start time. Thank you.
