Learn about how The Department of Conservation is using InternetofThings on AWS to help save the kakapo bird.

The kakapo is a species of large, flightless, nocturnal, ground-dwelling parrot endemic to New Zealand.  The kakapo is critically endangered; the total known adult population is 147 living individuals, all of which are named.

DoC are using innovative technology such as IoT to ensure the best outcomes for kakapo by focussing on new technology includes smart eggs, drones and better genetic management.
