A heart-warming, funny and moving play that has toured around the world and raised money for many Cancer charities, Calendar Girls is inspired by a true story. When the husband of a Yorkshire Women’s Institute member falls ill with cancer, the group are determined to raise money for a new sofa in the hospital waiting room. But how? A calendar, and not just any calendar!
The loveable cast of mature ladies decide to be bold and go nude for their cause, and they consequently take not only Yorkshire by storm, but the whole world! With fun, frolics and poignant scenes, this feel-good play has everything.
The Stage Door Theatre Company have chosen the Child Cancer Foundation as the recipient of $5 from every ticket sale.
On top of that, Stage Door are producing their very own calendar! The Kerikeri Calendar Girls Calendar, funded by local businesses and photographed by Flash Gordon Photography, will be available to purchase before, during and after the show from their photo shoot locations around town, and with a donation of each sale also going to the Child Cancer Foundation.
