Join Hawke’s Bay Historian Michael Fowler for a walking tour around the Hastings CBD to see striking examples of Art Deco in that town, as well as the story of how the 1931 Hawke’s Bay earthquake affected the CBD.
Michael’s tour is the result of over 15 years research and has new material added every year.
The tour takes two hours at an easy pace, and covers both the east and west sides of the Hastings CBD.
At the end of the tour enjoy a tea/coffee or cold drink and scones with lashings of cream and jam with Michael.
Please meet inside the Hastings i-SITE ten minutes before departure time. There is a large car park nearby on Eastbourne Street West with three hour parking.
