‘Meremere is a complex work of art where design, Audio Visual and lighting play as significant a role as story-telling, dance and music.’
      NZ Herald, October 2016

Meremere is a multi disciplinary work incorporating stories, driving interactive audiovisual elements with movement.

Meremere is layered and compelling: an autobiographical performance work that integrates documentary footage, interviews, movement and imagery into 54 extraordinary minutes. It is an inspiring multi-faceted survival story with a focus on Rodney’s time living rough on the streets of San Francisco. It is funny, humble and compelling and engages with a wide range of audiences. An impressionistic and surrealexperience of an extraordinary artist’s life.

A critically acclaimed dancer and performer, Rodney is internationally renowned for his physically integrated performance.

‘Meremere is a small but beautifully formed production that takes us on a journey of undiminished hope and wonder’
      Theatreview, June 23, 2018

Performed by critically acclaimed dancer and performer, Rodney Bell (Ngati Maniapoto), Meremere merges spoken word, music, dance and multimedia design to tell its story. This is Rodney’s story – from a childhood spent in Te Kuititanga to scaling the heights of an artistic career and living rough on the streets of San Francisco. Meremere explores the human response to the ebbs and flows of fortune, the transformative journey to inner strength and peace, and the immutable call of home - Paradice.
