"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

Pride and Prejudice, the Musical is a vibrant and heartwarming new show that will delight the whole family!  Following sold-out performances over ten years in the USA and UK, Pride and Prejudice, the Musical comes to Auckland for the first time ever this July for six shows only.

Created by USA-based director, Karen Burnett Hamer (formerly of Howick, Auckland), and now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Pride and Prejudice, the Musical will whisk you away for a happy evening in Regency England with the characters you know and love. Featuring an American cast with supporting Auckland actors, and filled with catchy songs and engaging humour, this sparkling adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel will leave you more in love with Pride and Prejudice than ever!

Set in the marriage-obsessed society of Meryton in 1810, Pride and Prejudice, the Musical tells the story of independent and spirited Elizabeth Bennet who is determined to marry for love rather than money - if she marries at all.  When the handsome, rich, and single Mr. Darcy publicly insults her, Elizabeth's determination to cause him as much pain as possible sets the stage for a clash of wits and wills, and tender revelation in this classic tale of tangled first impressions, prejudice, and pride.

Bring your mother! Bring your daughters! Bring your sisters! Bring your friends!  Husbands enjoy it, too!  This show has always sold out fast in both the USA and England, so purchase your tickets soon. Discounts available for groups.

"A brilliant show!" - Jackie Herring, Jane Austen Festival Director (Bath, UK 2016)

"I could not have imagined how music could enhance Pride and Prejudice ... now I can't imagine Pride and Prejudice without it!" - Audience member (England, 2016)

"The only part I didn't like was the interval because I had to wait to see the next act!" - Audience member (England, 2016)

Meet the cast afterwards for a unique photo opportunity.

Original soundtrack available for purchase at the show.

There will be a 20-minute talkback with the director/creator and actors immediately after the Saturday Matinee.
