Are your kids budding gaming enthusiasts? Send them along to TenForward to learn gaming skills in a safe, kid-friendly environment!
TenForward Technology Lounge is a place for kids under 14 who are inspired by gaming, online activities, YouTubing, streaming etc. We take the fun gaming activities that kids love to do and our gaming experts layer it with educational tools around social development, working in teams, making new friends, planning ahead, time management, appropriate behaviour, and behaviour modification. This means that children are learning to play competitive games with others nicely, and reduce the risk of toxic online behaviours and bullying. Because we are working in teams in the same room, the learnings around social development are rapid and a completely different environment to playing online with remote players.
Our gaming experts are excellent role models to the kids - most of whom have aspirations to become a popular streamer, YouTuber, or esports competitor. Parents find this to be very useful as they are unlikely to have the skills required to help their children. It is also our role to educate parents about gaming industry related work being a valid career option, and inspire them about their children's skills.
We have a wall of Xboxes and some laptops. Kids are welcome to bring their own laptop/ipad/device if they prefer.
We will be running sessions after school every day during TechWeek, Monday - Friday 3pm-6pm, and all weekend. Our cost is $10 per hour. We are a child care facility so parents don't need to stay. Bookings are casual, and your hour starts from when you arrive, but please let us know you are coming so we can plan accordingly.
