Liquorland proudly presents Highball, New Zealand’s first dedicated spirits and cocktail festival!

Held over two days on 11-12 May 2019 at Wellington’s historic Embassy Theatre, Highball is an immersive celebration of cocktails and spirits, where you can explore fine spirits, rare exports, creative cocktails and other libations, presented by local and international distilleries, as well as the best of Wellington’s cocktail bars and talent.

 

 

 

 

 

EXHIBITORS

Highball is partnering with Liquorland to showcase 16+ regional and international distilleries. Wander through different spaces in the Embassy and sample Kiwi craft spirits producers such as Reid & Reid, Thomson Whisky and Curiosity Gin, as well as global producers, House of Angostura, Glenfiddich, Bushmills and Johnnie Walker, to name just a few.

HIGHBALL SPEAKER SERIES

Festival-goers can learn directly from local and international cocktail experts and mixologists at the Highball Speaker Series on topics from the history of cocktails to cocktail education to Tiki culture.
The Speaker Series features renowned cocktail writer and historian, Philip Greene from America, Jason Williams of 28 Hong Kong St, Singapore and local Wellington icons, Ray Letoa and Chris Reid.

BAR TAKEOVERS

We'll be handing the keys of the Embassy's main candy bar to Wellington's best cocktail bars and purveyors of mixed drinks. Expect to see wild concoctions and delicious beverages served with flair.

FOOD + MUSIC

And of course, in true Wellington style, we’ll also be dishing up gastronomic delights from some of our best restaurants and live music for all to enjoy. 
 

 

 

 

Highball tickets are $50 which gives access to your chosen 5-hour session. Alternatively, grab a $100 Hit The Ground Running ticket, which includes an AWOP payment wristband pre-loaded with $50 credit.

Session 1 - Saturday 11 May 2019 - 12pm - 5pm
Session 2 - Saturday 11 May 2019 - 7pm - 12am
Session 3 - Sunday 12 May 2019 - 12pm - 5pm

All Highball tickets include: a souvenir Highball festival glass; a welcome beverage on entry; access to the Highball Speaker Series with 14 local and international speakers; access to 16 distilleries and five Wellington cocktail bar takeovers; three food vendors and live music.
