Porirua Little Theatre and Trust Porirua City Brass announce, with regret, the postponement of our upcoming season of “Brassed Off”.  This decision was not taken lightly, but with the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, we believe that it is in the best interest of the cast, band, crew and our community to postpone at this time. Our early ticket sales for “Brassed Off” were beyond our expectations; it is heartbreaking to postpone but we must consider the safety of our volunteers and community first and foremost.

We want to thank everyone involved in the production for the amazing work they have put into the show thus far.  Rest assured, we are committed to putting on this show as soon as it is reasonable to do so. We are enthusiastic about “Brassed Off” and want to tell this story to as many people as possible.  When a new date has been determined we will post to our social media channels and notify all current ticket holders directly.

Finally we wish to thank all our wonderful supporters - we could not do what we do without you.  We wish you all the very best during this challenging time and hope you will stay well and look after each other. - Porirua Little Theatre

Brassed Off

By Paul Allen, adapted from the screenplay by Mark Herman

“Brassed Off” is a touching drama marking the struggle of the men and woman in the mining town of Grimley.

With a possible 1200 job losses looming and the mining town dying, can the local brass band keep it together to fulfil their dream to play at Albert Hall.

Directed by Robert Ormsby with Band Direction by Clinton Payne Brassed Off is an emotional roller coaster, a journey of survival, love, laughter and loss.

Based on the hugely successful movie of the same name, Porirua Little Theatre are proud to be working on our next big project with the Trust Porirua City Brass
