This event has probably been and gone!
Amira Medunjanin is a renowned performer of “Sevdalinke”, Bosnian love songs.
This year, Amira is performing in New Zealand, at the Auckland beautiful Raye Freedman Arts Centre. This is her stop over on the way to Australia where she is going to perform once again at the 2020 National Multicultural Festival held in Canberra. Amira’s vocals will be backed by the guitar and bass sounds of Ante Gelo and Zvonimir Sestak who are also eager to showcase their unique styles to audiences in New Zealand and Australia.
This style of music is very popular within the former Yugoslav communities with large venues consistently being sold out, throughout Europe. The songs of this concert are performed in Croatian and Bosnian languages with stories in between songs said in English.
