Unfortunately the Art Deco Trust have now been advised by the train operator Mainline Steams, that it has had to cancel the running of its steam train and period carriages for operational reasons.
A fabulous morning out for all the family! Experience the Hawke’s Bay Countryside on board restored carriages with big windows and an open air viewing platform, drawn by Mainline Steams Locomotive JB1236.
Travel to Otane where you will have 2 hours to enjoy the local market, then its back on board for the run home. Take a picnic hamper with you or buy your sustenance from the nearby shops in Otane. The train also features a buffet carriage selling food and drinks.
Departs Napier Station at 9:00am and arrives back in Napier at approximately 2:00pm.
Departure and arrival times will be endeavoured to be met but sometimes delays could occur.
